Master Flint Knapper Wayne Adkins
Visit the Native Paths Tribal Cultural Center on September 16, 2023, for a one-day demonstration by master flint knapper, Wayne Adkins.
Flint knapping is the age-old art of making arrowheads and other edged stone tools. Hunter-gatherers relied upon this key wilderness survival skill to create important tools and hunting implements. Many people continue to practice the skill today, including traditional bowyers, experimental archaeologists, and primitive skills enthusiasts.
The day will also include family-oriented activities including face painting, smudging, a silent auction, and more.
Take in the exhibits housed within the tribal center, explore the nature trails, feed the turtles, and learn more about the culture of the Perdido Bay Tribe.
