Perdido Key Area Chamber of Commerce Presents Check to The Centre for Excellence

Perdido Key, FL – April 19, 2024: The Perdido Key Area Chamber of Commerce proudly announces the presentation of a $600 donation to the Centre for Excellence, a non-profit organization dedicated to offering practical resources, training, hope, and support to those looking to overcome a variety of life challenges. This contribution follows the success of the chamber's March events: the High Heel Classic and their International Women's Day Leadership Luncheon.

The Women Mean Business Committee, an integral part of the chamber, orchestrated these events with the aim of providing a platform for businesswomen to connect and thrive. These gatherings not only foster networking opportunities but also serve as avenues for women to engage in enriching experiences alongside like-minded professionals within the community.

"The Women Mean Business Committee is dedicated to championing the growth and success of women in our business community," stated Tammy Thurow, President/CEO of the Perdido Key Area Chamber of Commerce. "Our events, such as the High Heel Classic and the International Women's Day Leadership Luncheon, not only celebrate the achievements of women but also serve as platforms for meaningful contributions to organizations like the Centre for Excellence."

The Centre for Excellence was honored as the Chamber's Non-Profit of the Year in 2023, a testament to their impactful mission and unwavering commitment to offering support to those in need. As well as their support and dedication to the Perdido Key Area Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber is delighted to continue its support of this exemplary organization through the recent donation.

"We are thrilled to present this donation to the Centre for Excellence," expressed Thurow. "Their dedication to offering hope and support to individuals facing life challenges aligns perfectly with our mission, and we are proud to stand behind their efforts."

"Generous donations like these go a long way within our organization," stated Katie Barker, Director of Operations for The Centre for Excellence. "For example here is what can be accomplished - 124 families receive a box of food to feed their families for over a week, provide 4 families with wake meals after an unexpected loss due to overdose, provide 3 classes of CPR training to those in need, proved over 12 classes of 50 people with practical skills resources, or provide human trafficking and opioid awareness to over 2,500 students/parents in Pensacola. This donation from the Perdido Key Area Chamber of Commerce can directly impact many people in our community. We are thankful for being their charity of choice for their March events."

The Perdido Key Area Chamber of Commerce looks forward to continuing its collaboration with the Centre for Excellence and other community partners to foster growth, empowerment, and success within the local community.
