1. INTRODUCTION AND BACKGROUND

Q: What is your business or profession, and how does it contribute to the Perdido Key community?
A: I work for Florida Power & Light (FP&L), where we provide electric service to the Perdido Key area, ensuring that our community remains powered and connected.

Q: Can you briefly describe your role or job within your business?
A: I serve as the External Affairs Manager at FP&L, where I handle external relations and community engagement.

Q: Can you please introduce yourself and briefly describe your current position within the Chamber's Board of Directors?
A: I have been on the Board for three years and currently serve as the Chair. It's an honor to lead such a dedicated group of individuals working towards the betterment of our community.

Q: How long have you been a member of the Perdido Key Area Chamber of Commerce?
A: FP&L has been a long-time member of the Chamber, and I have personally been associated with the Board for three years.

2. INVOLVEMENT WITH THE CHAMBER

Q: What motivated you to start getting involved with the Chamber, and how did you initially become a member?
A: Perdido Key is an ideal place to live, work, and enjoy a wonderful small community with access to many amenities. I was invited to get involved by another member, and I quickly grew to love the Chamber, its staff, and fellow Board members.

Q: Could you share a memorable experience or achievement during your tenure with the Chamber?
A: I received an award in my first year on the Board, which was a meaningful recognition of my contributions. Since becoming Chair, every Board meeting has been memorable and full of engaging discussions.

3. IMPACT OF SERVING ON THE BOARD

Q: In what ways has serving on the Chamber's Board of Directors positively impacted you personally and professionally?
A: Serving on the Board has significantly expanded my business network in Perdido Key. It has also allowed me to immerse myself in the community and share my passion for its growth and prosperity.

4. ADVICE FOR CHAMBER MEMBERS

Q: Based on your experience, what advice would you offer to new or existing Chamber members looking to maximize their involvement and benefits?
A: Get involved. Even if you don’t know anyone, get involved, and you'll quickly meet many amazing people who believe in Perdido Key and want to see it thrive.

5. PERSONAL INSIGHTS

Q: Beyond your professional endeavors, could you share a hobby or interest that you're passionate about?
A: I love playing golf, even though I’m not particularly good at it. I also enjoy going to the gym to maintain both my physical and mental health.

Q: What drives your commitment to community involvement, and are there any other organizations or causes you're passionate about supporting?
A: My commitment comes from my love for the community and its incredible people. I want to see our community continue to grow and improve. I am passionate about supporting our military and the men and women who serve our country. Additionally, I am active on several boards, including the UWF Investment Committee, First Tee Gulf Coast, and the Northwest Florida Defense Coalition.

6. FUTURE OUTLOOK

Q: Looking ahead, what do you envision for the future of the Perdido Key Area Chamber of Commerce?
A: I am very excited about the Chamber's direction. Our staff is doing an excellent job, and we have a solid Board. The Chamber is focused on growing the Perdido Key economy through business, tourism, and military spending. As more people discover Perdido Key, I believe our community will continue to flourish.
