Panhandle Manatee Volunteer Training
Join PPBEP Staff at the Perdido Key Community Center on Saturday, February 3rd, 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM for training to become a Panhandle Manatee volunteer and assist with outreach and community events. We are looking for dedicated and reliable volunteers that want to learn more about manatees in our area and can help staff at festivals, events, and community outreach throughout our watersheds. The training will consist of an overview of general program information including the program mission, goals, upcoming projects, and continuous outreach efforts. We'll also dive into manatees and you'll learn about their habitats, life history, how to report a manatee sighting, safe boating practices, and seagrass! Volunteers should be comfortable talking to and engaging with people of all ages and backgrounds, especially boaters and anglers. Panhandle Manatee volunteers must be 18 years or older. REGISTRATION IS FREE, BUT REQUIRED. PLEASE VISIT EVENTBRITE TO REGISTER. ADDITIONAL DETAILS WILL BE SENT TO REGISTERED EVENTBRITE ATTENDEES.
