Friends of the Southwest Branch Library Meeting
The Friends of the Southwest Branch Library will have its first quarterly member meeting for fiscal year 2017 on Monday, January 9th at 6:00 p.m. at the Southwest Branch Library. Special guests are the furry listeners of the R.E.A.D. to Dogs program and the Pet Partners therapy dog handlers who will demonstrate the many talents of these dogs and how the program has been encouraging children to read for more than 10 years at the Southwest Branch Library. The Friends of the Southwest Branch Library Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit 501c(3) organization that supports the Southwest Branch of the West Florida Public Library through volunteerism and fundraising. You can join for as little as $10 a year. Friends raise funds for the library through daily book sales inside the Boutique and outside bargain carts. The SW Friends budgets $20,000 each year toward the library’s children’s programs, book collection, and more. Become a Friend and be proud to know that you are a part of that investment. We still are exhibiting the student art of Escambia County After School Art Class of 2016 in the lobby and the art of Alan Woolford inside the library. Check out the Friends sponsored events at Southwest Branch Library: make a basket, new book club, classic movies. For details, visit the library! Come out and support your library!
